Oats are among the healthiest grains on earth. They are gluten-free whole grain and a great source of important vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants. Oats are high in soluble fiber, B vitamins, calcium and protein. Oats is a great food to add to your baby’s diet as it is very healthy and easy for the baby to eat.
Bananas are packed with many of the nutrients that your baby needs. Sometimes referred to as a “power food,” it’s got the perfect combination of being rich in potassium but low in sodium, making it a heart-healthy fluid. Additionally, it has an abundance of vitamins, particularly Vitamin B6, Vitamin C and Vitamin B2.
- Oats -2 tbsp (quick cooking oats)
- Water -3/4 cup
- Soft Ripe Banana -1/4 cup (chopped)
- Organic powdered Jaggery -3/4-1 tsp (optional)
Cook oats with 3/4 cup of water on low heat stirring constantly until it starts thickening. Dissolve jaggery in a tbsp of water, filter it and then add while cooking oats. The consistency should be that of a porridge. Leave it to cool slightly.
Add chopped banana and puree everything together in a blender until smooth.
Serve warm with a baby spoon.
Note – My daughter doesn’t like the taste of jaggery unlike my son, so I used plain white sugar just about 1/4 tsp as the banana is sweet enough.
